There were so many elements to consider in this series of Oscars VT's, and I had a lot of fun editing them from start to finish. My aim was to really capture the essence of each film and make the VT's compelling and comprehensive in their conciseness so that the audience would come away feeling that they had a really good sense of the film, even if they hadn't seen it. I ensured that I chose clips that matched the voiceover description perfectly and tracks that set the tone of each section, to pull you in visually and emotionally. I particularly enjoyed editing the opening montages, cutting to the music with the aim to grip the viewer straight away. This VT 'The Night Ahead' was the first one to playout in our pre ceremony show hosted by Jonathan Ross, and it covers the main events of the night including the host, key nominations and tributes.

This VT 'The Top Five Films' delves a little deeper into the 5 films that received the most nominations this year. These were: Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist, Wicked, A Complete Unknown and Conclave.

This VT 'Other Ones To Watch' takes a look at 5 of the films that were considered potential underdogs. These were: The Substance, Anora, A Real Pain, The Apprentice and Nosferatu.

The footage for this was recorded on the morning of the show, so we only had around 40 minutes to edit this before it TX'd, I had fun creating this edit and stylising it and I was really happy with how it turned out!

As the King's Coronation came to a close, we reflected on the events of the weekend on the Monday's shows. I searched through the footage of both the Coronation and the concert to find some of the key moments to add to this quick round up, which I edited overnight in quite a fast turnaround between cutting news VT's for Good Morning Britain.

It was great fun editing this end of year highlights VT that aired on the Christmas Day special of Good Morning Britain. Myself and a couple other editors on the team collaborated on this project, working closely with our producer to narrow down these most notable newsworthy moments. It was a challenging edit fitting in a years worth of stories into 5 minutes, but great fun and really rewarding to see the end result.

As the Golden Globes airs overnight due to time difference in the UK, my producer and I collated clips whilst watching the show live so I could quickly edit a recap VT to TX that morning on Lorraine at the start of the show.

Every year we run a 'Change+Check' campaign to encourage people to check themselves for signs of breast cancer in the aim to catch and treat early to save as many lives as possible. I edited this VT which features women who have faced breast cancer and now want to raise awareness. The link on the end of the vt shows clips from the reveal of their photoshoot being displayed around the country including on the big Piccadilly Lights screens in London. I also edited the rolling VT that went out on these screens and went into London to see the reveal and see the great impact the campaign was making.
